PCN: Vishay - WSC0001 / WSN0001 Product Obsolescence

DESCRIPTION OF CHANGE: WSC0001 and WSN0001 product obsolescence. Customer’s need to be directed to newer WSC2515 / WSN2515 (http://www.vishay.com/docs/30102/wscwsn.pdf) product or another technology such as WSF, WSL or WSLP. Also, refer to the brochure Conversion Guide (http://www.vishay.com/docs/49616/49616_pl0010.pdf) for a comparison to assist with product choice.

CLASSIFICATION OF CHANGE: Product Obsolescence

REASON FOR CHANGE: The WSC0001 / WSN0001 is the original design of the 1W surface mount wirewound product; refer to page 5 of Conversion guide (link above). The WSC2515 / WSN2515 is an improvement in product and manufacturing design that provides for a more reliable assembly with reduced failure modes. Due to consolidation of floor space and manufacturing locations – the WSC0001/WSN0001 manufacturing equipment is being eliminated.
