Knowles Precision Devices (KPD) currently market MLCC’s under the historic brands of Novacap and Syfer. Within the Novacap brand, different dielectric codes are used to define the RoHS and REACH status of the components.

Knowles ‘Novacap’ brand safety approved MLCC range - Not for new designs.

The purpose of this notification is to advise the following changes affecting Knowles surface Mount safety rated Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors sold under the ‘Novacap’ brand Name Since 2014, Novacap brand safety cap parts have been co-licenced versions of the parts sold under the Syfer brand name. Later this year, we anticipate launching a revised and expanded product range with enhanced ratings. This will only be launched under the Syfer brand name.

Effective December 2016 Novacap will no longer offer the dielectric type Z5U or Y5V ceramic capacitors.
